Prior to joining Richards Patent Law, I was a patent attorney with Goodwin Proctor in Boston, Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek in Milwaukee, Leydig, Voit and Mayer in Chicago, and most recently Cantor Colburn in Hartford. While a majority of my practice has centered on chemical and biochemical patent prosecution, I have experience with a wide range of technology, including medical devices, semiconducting technology, materials, consumer products, software, and business methods. In addition to my patent prosecution experience, I have drafted freedom to practice opinions, patentability opinions, and non-infringement opinions. I am also experienced in preparing and filing trademark applications.
I earned a JD from The John Marshall Law School, an MS in chemistry from Northwestern University, and a BS in chemistry from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am admitted to practice in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Massachusetts.
I am also a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
